History and tradition sit comfortably with the best in contemporary Club life at The Adelaide Club. Founded in 1863, the Club is one of the oldest in Australia. Located in the heart of Adelaide’s arts and cultural precinct, the Club offers Members and Guests fine dining, accommodation and convivial ambience. The Adelaide Club is affiliated with many Reciprocal Clubs world-wide.


From the Club entrance you can see Government House, Parliament House, the Art Gallery of South Australia, the State Library and the South Australian Museum, which contain many cultural and artistic treasures. Take a short stroll and you reach the Adelaide Festival Centre, the city’s premier entertainment venue, the picturesque River Torrens and the famous Adelaide Oval.

The Club offers a good balance of traditional fine dining and contemporary cuisine, with an extensive wine list to complement the food.

A selection of rooms is available for private dining and functions. Smart business casual may be worn in the newly refurbished basement areas, such as Downstairs@165, the Private and Committee Rooms, Billiard Room and Members’ Office Facility;  jacket and tie must be worn in all other areas of the Club.


The Club’s accommodation facility provides a Deluxe Suite with a Sitting Room overlooking the gardens of Government House, 2 Junior Suites and 6 Deluxe Bedrooms.

Fully cooked breakfasts are available from Monday to Friday. From 1 May 2019 a complimentary Continental Breakfast Box will be available in-room on the weekends for each of our guests; the Continental Breakfast will replace the a la carte cooked breakfasts which will be discontinued on the weekends from that date.

Wi-Fi connection, Foxtel, Tea and Coffee facilities are included. Secure parking is available for a fee.
