The Adelaide Club

History and tradition sit comfortably with the best in contemporary Club life at The Adelaide Club. Founded in 1863, the Club is one of the oldest in Australia. Located in the heart of Adelaide’s arts and cultural precinct, the Club offers Members and Guests fine dining, accommodation and convivial ambience. The Adelaide Club is affiliated with many Reciprocal Clubs world-wide.


From the Club entrance you can see Government House, Parliament House, the Art Gallery of South Australia, the State Library and the South Australian Museum, which contain many cultural and artistic treasures. Take a short stroll and you reach the Adelaide Festival Centre, the city’s premier entertainment venue, the picturesque River Torrens and the famous Adelaide Oval.

The Club offers a good balance of traditional, fine dining and contemporary cuisine, with an extensive wine list to compliment the food.

A selection of rooms are available for private dining and functions. Smart business casual may be worn in the newly refurbished basement areas, such as Downstairs@165, the Private and Committee rooms, Billiard Room, Members’ Office Facility,  however, jacket and tie must be worn in all other areas of the Club.


The Club’s Accommodation facility provides a Deluxe Suite with a Sitting Room overlooking the gardens of Government House, 2 other Suites and 5 Deluxe Bedrooms.

Complimentary secure parking is available to House Guests,  fully cooked breakfasts available from Monday to Sunday. Wi-Fi connection, Foxtel, Tea and Coffee facilities and a daily Newspaper are included.
